About The Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Director, Advanced Therapy Integration (ATI) to serve as a strategic, scientific leader responsible for driving high-impact engagements with our customers. This leadership role integrates multiple advanced technologies, applications, and instrument platforms into cohesive solutions that enable cellular therapies across research, translational, and clinical contexts.
This role is critical to executing the business strategy by ensuring adoption of Thermo Fisher solutions, advocating on our behalf, and actively shaping our portfolio through structured Voice of Customer (VOC) engagement. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, this role partners across various divisions and functions, including the Biosciences Division (BID) and Bioproduction Group (BPG), R&D, and Commercial organizations, to drive collaboration, accelerate adoption, and deliver differentiated solutions. The Director operates at the intersection of strategy, science, and commercial execution, with success measured by revenue growth in the highest-potential accounts, expanded advocacy and engagement through VOC networks, and improved innovation portfolio readiness by translating customer insight into business action.
What You Will Do
- Lead and execute strategic collaborations aligned with Cell Biology Advanced Therapies (CBAT) business priorities, including integration of targeted products and technologies into scalable application solutions.
- Serve as the primary scientific and strategic interface with key customers, ensuring strong adoption of Thermo Fisher products and alignment of portfolios and roadmaps across the Thermo Fisher ecosystem.
- Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to amplify & sequence collaborations, advocacy, and awareness through coordinated programs and initiatives.
- Drive measurable impact by enabling deep, long-term partnerships that accelerate use of Thermo Fisher solutions across research, translational, and clinical settings.
- Build, scale, and activate VOC networks, creating structured mechanisms to capture insights and feedback that enable early adoption of innovative technologies.
- Translate VOC into actionable inputs that improve portfolio strategy, marketing engagement, and technology adoption, ensuring needs are effectively shepherded into the business.
- Oversee collaborations across Carlsbad, Philadelphia, and Singapore ATxx facilities and partner sites, ensuring consistent, high-impact experiences that reinforce Thermo Fisher’s value proposition.
- Provide scientific leadership and strategic guidance to internal teams, ensuring engagement activities remain aligned with both scientific rigor and business outcomes. Champion internal collaborations designed to address key customer workflow needs.
Who You Are
- A strategic, customer-oriented scientific leader who understands how to translate engagement into business impact.
- A trusted advisor, capable of influencing scientific, technical, and executive stakeholders with credibility and confidence.
- A business-minded leader who measures success through enabling portfolio-ready innovations, customer advocacy, and execution of strategy, not activity alone.
- A collaborative leader who excels in highly matrixed environments by building trust and drive alignment across organizations globally without direct authority.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in advanced therapies or related life science disciplines (i.e., cell-based workflows, including cell culture, transfection, genome editing, and cell & gene therapy).
- 8+ years of experience leading senior scientific, technical, or commercial-facing teams.
- Demonstrated success driving strategic scientific partnerships and customer-oriented collaborative engagements that result in translating technical concepts into commercial opportunities.
- Proven ability to build and leverage VOC networks and translate insight into portfolio, marketing, and business strategy.
- Strong experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, executive presence, and storytelling skills—internally and externally.
- Advanced skills in driving project management & demonstration of intuitive intelligence — optimal organization, planning, decision-making, and problem-solving globally.
- Ability to travel up to 40%.
