Basic Function:
As part of the Wolters Kluwer Health team, the Lead Technology Product Manager for Medi-Span plays a critical role in advancing our drug data and medication decision-support solutions by driving the execution and delivery of product initiatives across the Medi-Span portfolio. Medi-Span provides trusted drug information in machine-readable formats and SaaS-based solutions that support clinical, operational, and administrative decision-making across a broad range of healthcare markets.
This role includes traditional product management responsibilities that span the Medi-Span product line. A key part of this role includes identifying and assessing U.S. government and industry (e.g., NCPDP) standards changes, determining their implications for Medi-Span content and the data delivery solutions used within customer workflows, and shaping the related product decisions and plans. In addition to regulatory-related responsibilities, this product manager will support prioritization, planning, and execution for initiatives across other Medi-Span product domains that support customer needs and strategic business goals. The Lead Technology Product Manager translates regulatory signals, market insights, and customer needs into actionable product requirements and collaborates closely with Engineering, Content, and go-to-market teams to ensure our plans and delivery align with compliance, quality, and evolving market expectations.
Ideal candidates bring experience from payer/PBM organizations, EHR and other digital health tech vendors, and/or healthcare regulatory compliance teams, with exposure to NCPDP standards, CMS programs, pharmacy transactions, and the operationalization of regulatory changes. A pharmacist’s background uniquely positions an individual for this role through deep clinical knowledge, regulatory expertise, and cross‑functional healthcare experience. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to connect regulatory changes to downstream system and workflow impacts, and the versatility to support product areas both within and outside of the regulatory domain.
Wolters Kluwer Health is an established, fast-growing, and innovation-driven healthcare information technology company that delivers trusted clinical technology and evidence-based solutions to support decision-making and improve outcomes across the healthcare ecosystem. Our flagship products include UpToDate, UpToDate Lexidrug, UpToDate Patient Engagement, and Medi-Span.

Customer & Market Insight Including Regulatory Dynamics
- Engage with customers and internal partners to understand workflow needs, pain points, and questions related to both regulatory and industry changes.
- Monitor and assess U.S. government program and standards activity (for example CMS, FDA, NCPDP, and pharmacy state boards) to understand implications for customer workflows, Medi-Span content, and data delivery solutions.
- Actively participate in relevant NCPDP workgroups to stay informed on standards activity, shape the standards, and represent Medi‑Span perspectives.
- Synthesize customer feedback, regulatory developments, and market trends into clear problem statements and product insights that inform prioritization and roadmap direction.
Product Execution & Delivery with Cross-functional Collaboration
- Define requirements for proposed initiatives and collaborate with Engineering, Content, and other teams to understand feasibility, dependencies, and estimated effort.
- Develop business cases for new or enhanced offerings, including market rationale, ROI projections, and alignment with customer and organizational goals.
- Lead and support execution activities, including feature development and release planning, and partner with go-to-market teams (Marketing, Sales, Pricing, Customer Experience) to ensure comprehensive internal and external enablement for product updates.
Other Duties:
- Share domain expertise and product knowledge with internal teams through informal coaching, documentation, and collaborative sessions.
- Support the development of product documentation, training materials, and enablement resources to improve customer onboarding and adoption of new or enhanced Medi-Span solutions.
- Contribute to evolving team and business priorities by supporting cross-functional initiatives, strategic planning efforts, and other responsibilities as needed.

- Experience interpreting U.S. healthcare regulatory and industry standards changes (for example CMS, FDA, NCPDP, and pharmacy state boards) and understanding how those changes affect systems, data structures, workflows, and product offerings.
- In-depth understanding of drug classification systems, drug packaging attributes, drug clinical attributes, pricing and reimbursement data, and regulatory classifications and how these data types are used across pharmacy workflows, provider systems, payer/PBM environments, and other healthcare data‑driven markets.
Preferred Experience:
- Active pharmacist license.
- Pharmacist residency training.
- Background in payer/PBM, EHR/pharmacy systems, or healthcare regulatory compliance teams with hands-on experience interpreting and operationalizing standards or government program changes.
