Server Operations Tier I

Job Summary

The Server Operations Tier 1 position is responsible for building and imaging servers, planning, and implementing server upgrades and replacements, providing break/fix support for customer hardware and software issues, and maintaining documentation of system configurations and offering Tier 1 support for general Hardware Support.

This role also assists with packaging and shipping server hardware and devices, ensuring equipment is properly prepared for transport and delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.

Key Duties

Images and builds servers and workstations to ensure consistency of servers deployed in the field.
Plan and implement server upgrades, replacements, component testing and replacement on servers deployed with customers.
Packaging and shipping server hardware and devices, ensuring equipment is properly prepared for transport and delivered to the appropriate locations in a timely manner.
Responding to help desk tickets and phone calls from pharmacies in a timely manner.
Consulting with pharmacy staff to optimize their technology setup and make recommendations for improvements.
Provide break/fix support to troubleshooting and resolve customer hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, software licenses, and hardware inventories to facilitate system upgrades and replacements.

Education/Training

2-year associate degree or 3-5 years of experience in IT.
Experience in Windows Deployment Services (preferred)
A+, Network + and/or Microsoft certifications (preferred)

Technical skills: The candidate should have strong technical skills related to server and workstation hardware and software. This includes knowledge of workstation imaging and building, hardware upgrades and data migration.
Documentation skills: The candidate should be able to maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, software licenses, and hardware inventories.
Communication skills: The candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and other stakeholders.
Organizational skills: The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Project management skills: The candidate should be able to participate in project planning and implementation activities to ensure system compatibility and stability.
Attention to detail: The candidate should possess strong attention to detail to ensure consistent and accurate server and workstation builds across the organization.
Problem-solving skills: The candidate should be able to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical problems and provide effective solutions.
Customer service skills: The candidate should possess excellent customer service skills and be able to provide timely and effective break/fix support to customers

Physical Demands, Working Conditions, and General Employment Guidelines

Low-Moderate levels of stress may be experienced in the performance of the job.
This position may be asked to handle projects that are required to be completed after hours.
Position is performed in a general office environment, home office, or approved remote workspace where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting to 100 lbs.
