A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available within a K-12 educational setting located in Taunton, MA. This contract role, running throughout the current school year, focuses on co-teaching 8th grade resource classes. The schedule is from 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM, providing a consistent full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and support 8th grade students with special education needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique requirements.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic and social development.
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for K-12.
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly in resource room or co-teaching settings.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to develop engaging, individualized curriculum and interventions.
