The Role
Moderna is seeking an experienced and visionary candidate to join Digital Commercial Engineering (DCE) team based in Cambridge, MA. This role will be pivotal in supporting Moderna’s Commercial endeavor across multiple geographies, helping to drive digital innovation and execution that enables Moderna to deliver on its mission of creating transformative medicines for patients around the world.
As a senior member of the DCE organization, you will partner with business stakeholders across Moderna’s Commercial team to deeply understand their digital and operational needs, translate business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps, and work closely with multiple engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and high-impact digital solutions.
You will operate at the intersection of business and technology—aligning commercial strategy with digital delivery—while influencing strategic prioritization, operational planning, and stakeholder engagement across geographies.
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Partner with Business Stakeholders across Moderna’s Commercial Country teams to deeply understand digital, customer, and business needs. Define and document clear business and technical requirements, translating them into actionable deliverables that shape product direction, resourcing, and execution plans in collaboration with Digital Product and Engineering teams.
- Lead end-to-end program planning and execution, developing integrated delivery roadmaps, managing scope, schedules, dependencies, and budgets, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks and challenges to ensure alignment, momentum, and on-time delivery of commercial initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Product, Engineering, and Business teams to drive consensus on technical solutions, resolve dependencies, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Drive data-informed prioritization and transparent reporting to provide visibility into program progress, key decisions, risks, and outcomes, while representing the Digital portfolio in leadership forums to influence strategic direction, communicate business impact, and ensure alignment across commercial functions.
- Champion operational excellence in digital delivery, promoting modern program management practices, process optimization, and continuous improvement across teams.
- Mentor and coach TPMs and project managers, strengthening delivery capabilities and contributing to the maturity of the TPM discipline within Moderna Digital.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of overall professional experience, with at least 6+ years in technical program management for complex, cross-functional software or digital initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale technical programs with multiple stakeholders, spanning business and technology functions. Experience managing programs with multi-market scope.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple organizational levels. Demonstrated success in partnering with business leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps.
- Degree in advanced technology, or 5+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience. Proven skills in technical design and architecture.
- Experience in commercial digital systems, customer platforms, or enterprise-scale business systems supporting multi geography markets.
- Familiarity with regulated industries (biotech, pharma, healthcare) and understanding of compliance, data privacy, and localization requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build, influence, and manage strong relationships with both Business and Technical stakeholders across multi geography teams.
- A mindset aligned with Moderna’s values: Bold, Relentless, Curious, and Collaborative.
- Evidence of Moderna Mindsets: We behave like owners – driving results that go beyond any job description; We act with dynamic range – balancing strategy and execution seamlessly; We prioritize the platform – enabling scalability and sustainability over point solutions.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
- Proven track record of balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution, delivering measurable business outcomes through disciplined program leadership.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business insights.
