A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a contract position from August 18, 2025, through June 2, 2026, located in Joliet, IL. This role supports K-8 students with social and emotional disabilities within an elementary school setting, providing critical speech therapy services to a fully verbal and independent student population.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted speech-language pathology interventions for approximately 30 students.
- Provide individualized therapy aligned with students IEPs, averaging 120 minutes per month or 30 minutes per week per student.
- Collaborate with special education staff and multidisciplinary teams to support communication goals.
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports to monitor student development.
- Participate fully in an in-person work setting.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license is required.
- Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL) is mandatory.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with K-8 students, especially those with social and emotional challenges, is highly valued.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
