Job Summary
The Accountant will perform accounting tasks in support of overall business operations. They are responsible for assisting in the daily accounting and administration functions of the company to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger. The Accountant will also assist with audit support, process documentation, procedures and workflow for their assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in monthly variance explanation preparation, worksheets and narratives
- Maintain and reconcile various areas of accounting which may include general ledger accounts, fixed asset schedules, cash accounts and / or intercompany accounts
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
- Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
- Assist with the interim and annual external audits
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred) for general ledger and GAAP basis
- Self-starter, needing little or no supervision
- Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities
- Adaptability to an evolving organizational structure
Education & Experience Requirements - Minimum years of work experience: 2 years
- Two plus years’ experience at either public or private companies is desirable
- Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting
