Introduction

As the
Senior Director of Custom Contracting, your key area of focus will be sourcing initiatives across the
medical device categories that have high spend, complexity, risk, and sensitivity. You will be recognized as an expert negotiator with established customer trust. You will bring broad expertise in negotiation principles and contract terms and conditions, along with proficiency in mitigating business and contractual risk, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and uncovering new areas for contracting.
Additionally, the Senior Director will interpret complex internal and external business issues and take a broad perspective in identifying and executing solutions. You will provide project leadership for back‑office team members (finance, contract administration, etc.) and may at times direct other team members on specific tasks and priorities. This role will provide high‑level strategic leadership and direction related to suppliers, projects, client needs, and input from senior leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary and Qualifications
- Ability to independently plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories
- Recognized as an expert in contracting discipline (e.g. nursing, surgery, capital, non-medical, PPI, etc.) and thorough category knowledge of portfolio,
- Individual must know and be able to use knowledge about supplier to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, anticipate direction of the market and potential supplier direction.
- Develops the contract strategy, formulates a clear vision and articulates steps to achieve the negotiation objectives. Also leads and directs other team members to help accomplish the strategic direction established.
- Thorough understanding and accountability for the sourcing process for their assigned contracting initiative. Including market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development & validation, RFP, and Contract Negotiations.
- Ability to conduct self-confident and articulate business conversations with internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers (all levels, including executives).
- Act as a champion for business process change, organizational change, and cultural change. May include leading process improvement or training initiatives. Also to include communicating to clients and managing the impact to clients operations.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience preferred. Ideal candidate will have experience in strategic sourcing and negotiating a variety of contracts across Medical Device categories. Candidate must have proven track-record of achieving results and managing equivalent or similar responsibilities is required
- Strategic sourcing experience is required
- Contract negotiation experience is required
