Overview
Responsible for employing engineering principles to resolve difficult problems in a manufacturing setting, from conception to final design, with team input.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for employing engineering principles to resolve difficult problems in a manufacturing setting, from conception to final design, with team input.
- Lead project assignments in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with minimal guidance.
- Drive innovation in manufacturing by analyzing current processes and developing improvements to increase efficiency or lower production costs.
- Devise new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
- Implement control systems and other projects to eliminate product discrepancies and to support quality and compliance in the manufacturing process.
- Utilize Good Documentation practices.
- Coordinate change controls and revise batch records, Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”), and other quality documents
- Support and emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the manufacturing process.
- Construct detailed, accurate project schedules and interface with development groups and technical support groups.
- Drive operational excellence and flawless execution in the areas of cost reduction, discard reduction, annual productivity improvements, inventory turnover, regulatory excellence (including exception reduction and internal/external regulatory commitment management), on time delivery, and lead time reduction.
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, related engineering field or equivalent and 5 years of pharmaceutical experience including in product packaging, equipment design and inspection, and in automation surrounding pharmaceutical products. Alternatively, must have a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, related engineering field or equivalent and 3 years of pharmaceutical experience including in product packaging, equipment design and inspection, and in automation surrounding pharmaceutical products. Travel is required approximately 4-6 times per year (international and domestic) depending on the project workload.
