About The Role
Step into a hands-on role where you keep complex manufacturing assets running at peak performance. Working under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Expeditor, you’ll troubleshoot and repair primary and auxiliary production equipment and plant systems, execute preventive maintenance, and use hydraulic blueprints, schematics, and drawings to solve problems quickly and safely.
A Day in the Life
- Begin by reviewing priorities with maintenance leadership and checking open PMs.
- Perform startups and restarts of plastic injection molding machinery (molding machines and support equipment) to bring lines online smoothly.
- Inspect equipment visually for worn components, leaks, or safety hazards, and address issues promptly.
- Carry out cleaning and lubrication, and complete scheduled PM tasks to prevent unexpected downtime.
- Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems that support custom automated assembly and robotic systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify root causes and determine immediate actions or when to escalate.
- Operate equipment according to procedure and uphold all corporate and plant safety policies while sustaining a 5S work area.
- Communicate proactively with coworkers on safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute ideas for modifications or new designs that improve reliability and efficiency.
- Follow work instructions, and when asked, write, revise, and train others to those instructions.
- Assist other departments as needed and take on additional duties when required.
What You Bring
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a positive, team-first mindset.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems using hydraulic blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook; SAP experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions in English; solid math skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Physical & Safety
- Lift up to 40 lbs independently and up to 80 lbs with a team lift.
- Perform machine safety inspections and adhere to all safety policies.
