What The Senior Data Engineer Does Each Day
- Designs, builds, and maintains MDM entities and hierarchies within the Profisee platform
- Develops and manages data matching, survivorship, and stewardship workflows to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
- Collaborates with business data owners to define master data domains, data quality rules, and governance policies
- Integrates Profisee MDM with enterprise data sources, APIs, and analytics environments
- Implements monitoring, auditing, and performance optimization for Profisee jobs and services
- Provides technical leadership and support for data stewards and business users of the MDM platform
- Manages complex data projects from inception through production, ensuring alignment, quality, and successful delivery
- Designs, develops, and maintains robust ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, flat files, SaaS platforms)
- Implements best practices for data quality, lineage, validation, and monitoring
- Optimizes ETL workflows for scalability, reliability, and performance
- Partners with analysts and data scientists to ensure data models meet analytical and operational needs
- Builds and manages APIs and data services that enable secure and efficient data exchange across systems
- Integrates with third-party APIs for data ingestion, enrichment, or distribution
- Develops automation solutions for routine data ingestion and synchronization tasks
- Offers flexibility to assist with occasional time-sensitive analytical needs outside standard hours
- Builds and maintains high-quality Power BI assets
- Translates business requirements into effective data models, visualizations, and governed BI solutions
- Manages Power BI administration, including workspaces, licensing, user access, and data gateway configurations
- Maintains BI performance, metadata, documentation, and supports user onboarding and self-service analytics

Minimum Requirements For This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics
- Advanced SQL and Python skills and strong experience with ETL tools
- Hands-on experience with Power BI data modeling, DAX, and administration
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and cloud data platforms
- Familiarity with master data management platforms and concepts such as entity matching, survivorship rules, and data stewardship
- Familiarity with DevOps practices for data pipelines (CI/CD, version control, testing)
- Proven experience with API design and integration (REST, GraphQL, JSON, OAuth)
- Exposure to other scripting languages for data processing and automation
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
- 18+ years of age
- Able to successfully complete a drug and background check

- The base compensation for this role is estimated to be within the range described below. The compensation offered may vary depending on relevant factors such as experience, skills, training, education, certifications, geographic location, and market conditions
- Range: $117,433 - $135,975 Annually
- This role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus, subject to program terms and guidelines
