A dedicated Social Worker position is available within an elementary school setting in Chimayo, NM, focused on supporting students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. This contract role involves working full-time, 40 hours per week, providing essential social work services directly on site to help students develop positive behaviors and social skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized social work support to students in PK-6 at assigned elementary school locations.
- Address behavioral challenges and promote social-emotional development within the student population.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Current LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) credential in New Mexico.
- PED (Public Education Department) certification for social work in schools.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, specifically addressing behavioral and social skill development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside students, teachers, and families.
- Must be willing and able to provide in-person services; remote or hybrid options are not available.
