JOB FUNCTION:
Assists in providing work direction and training of employees, adds organizational and visual control improvements, and according to workload analysis helps to perform any combination of tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two years of work experience in an applicable area: packaging, shipping, light assembly
- Experience as a leader or organizer of people or tasks
Specific Job Knowledge
- Assists supervisor
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to learn job tasks in the department alongside of the team
Shop hours are Monday - Thursday 5:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The salary ranges from $23.00 to $29.00 per hour.
Starting wage will be dependent on experience level.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Duties
- Receive, carry out, and communicate to co-workers, assignments from immediate or acting supervisor.
- Assure production schedule is met and collaborate on creative solutions.
- Inventory parts regularly, reporting any shortages to supervisor.
- When required, help to package products.
- Read and interpret standard label drawings.

Responsibility
- Assign and communicate work direction from supervisor.
- System reporting for job completion and work times
- Follow all safety rules; including using all recommended personal protection equipment.
- Perform in-process and finished production inspection.
- Give input to and improve packaging procedures.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
