A Special Education Teacher with expertise in K-12 education is sought for a contract position serving multiple grade levels in a special education cooperative setting. This opportunity involves working within a diverse range of Pre-K through age 22 classrooms designed to meet various special education needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs in accordance with state guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student academic and social growth.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating effectively with parents and administrators.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Illinois Licensed Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) or Professional Educator License with an endorsement in special education.
- Demonstrated experience working with students across multiple grade levels in special education.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and instructional strategies.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and adapt teaching practices to diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and individualized support for all students.
Location: Naperville, Illinois (within a regional cooperative serving special education students).
Contract Duration: Contract for the full school year with multiple positions available.
