Brief Description
Primary Function:
The Sales Manager oversees guiding the Account Managers and fostering growth within their assigned territories. This includes building quarterly sales plans, and ensuring each account manager has a clearly defined set of initiatives. The Sales Manager will lead by example and make decisions on the best course of action to take with each territory within their team. They will also collaborate with other members of the Sales Management team on yearly sales objectives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Sales skills in a consultative selling or equivalent environment
- Ability to make independent decisions that are in the best interest of HCL
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability and desire to develop and motivate a team
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
- Possess a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office
- Ability to provide and support vision and direction
- Ability to work independently and in group environment
- Willingness and ability to travel
- In Office environment: Requires ability to sit for extended periods of time with frequent hand & finger dexterity. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing
- Travel/Trade shows: Frequent standing/walking with occasional need to kneel/squat/lift. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing
Summary
Responsibilities:
- Candidates should exhibit decision making and judgement that place HCL and business needs first
- Must have confidence to have critical and confidential conversations concerning performance, discipline, policy issues, etc.
- Coach Account Managers to grow their customer base by expanding upon departmental relationships, uncover customer needs/opportunities, convert quotes and to assist with the improvement of verbal and written discussion via email and call monitoring
- Prepares weekly updates to present to the President of Sales via Leadr
- Foster relationships with corporate level accounts alongside the Account Manager via business reviews and site visits as needed
- Empower Account Managers to execute effective site visits; accompany them on visits to their territory as needed; review Travel Log and provide approval for upcoming trips in a timely manner; assist with planning, executing, and effectively gaining ROI from site visits
- Ensure the Account Managers and Territory Support Specialists have the appropriate training and other resources to perform their job
- Complete assigned reports accurately and on time
- Manage detailed records of Account Managers & Territory Support Specialists to support performance evaluations, promotions, or terminations
- Create and maintain a professional work environment so team members are motivated and challenged to perform at their highest level
- Attends trade shows and assists with booth set up, follows-up on trade show leads and/or distributes leads accordingly, as needed
- Identify and follow relevant continued education material on a quarterly basis
- Maintains effective communication with departments outside of sales
- Attends required trainings and holds their team accountable
- Maintains adherence to all Company policies and procedures including expense reports and regular attendance
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following ergonomic guidelines
- Other functions as assigned to meet business/department needs
