An opportunity is available for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting. This position focuses on working in a kindergarten autism classroom, assisting a student who exhibits aggressive behaviors. The role requires comfort and capability in life-skills support, including toileting assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans under supervision to support student development.
- Monitor, record, and analyze behavior data to inform instructional adjustments.
- Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, and other team members to ensure consistency of support.
- Provide direct support in life skills, including toileting assistance, hygiene, and daily routines.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and ethical guidelines.
Desired Qualifications And Experience
- Current or previously held Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required.
- Experience working as a school-based RBT, preferably within autism support classrooms.
- Ability to manage aggressive behaviors with professionalism and patience.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with educational staff and families.
- Flexibility and reliability in attendance and scheduling.
- Must obtain school-required fingerprinting clearance within the first days of assignment.
Location and Schedule:
- Position is based in Bear, DE, working within a school environment serving students with special needs.
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM EST.
- Contract position through the current school year, with a duration from ASAP through June 12, 2026.
