A Special Education Teacher is needed for a leave of absence position in a middle school setting near Flemington, NJ. This contract role offers full-time hours, primarily supporting 7th and 8th grade students with special education needs. The position spans from mid-January through the end of the school year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to 7th or 8th grade students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' goals and abilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with parents and school administrators
Qualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience teaching special education at the middle school level preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and special education laws
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills

- Middle school located in Piscataway, NJ (near Flemington)
Work Schedule
- Full-time, 36 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 7:55 am to 3:15 pm
- 7th grade position: January 23, 2026 End of school year
- 8th grade position: January 12, 2026 End of school year
