Objective Of Position
The Talent Development Director is responsible for all talent management and development strategies. These strategies include talent reviews and assessment, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, career development, executive development, culture, employee recognition, inclusion, and learning and development initiatives. This role is responsible for developing innovative and transformative talent management and development solutions aligned to Byline Bank’s strategic plan. The Talent Development Director will help improve the employee experience through new talent programs, learning and leadership development, and employee engagement strategies that effectively develop and retain Byline Bank’s workforce.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develops and implements initiatives across a full spectrum of talent management – talent assessment, onboarding, performance management, organizational design, succession planning, competency modeling, career development, executive development, learning, and employee engagement.
- Serves as expert and advisor on talent management, engagement, learning and development, recognition, company culture, and inclusion.
- Develops and implement an approach for effective performance management solutions – including performance reviews, goal setting, and ongoing development planning.
- Serves as expert and advisor on inclusion, social governance, and community engagement programs. Work closely with the CHRO and executives to develop, execute, and track progress against employee engagement, culture, inclusion, and social governance priorities.
- Drives the employee engagement strategy, including survey strategy and action planning to achieve top workplace awards.
- Develops talent metrics and provides data-driven insights to drive desired outcomes that are specific and relevant to business needs.
- Leads the Learning & Development team to drive learning strategy and culture in the organization. Ensures alignment and collaboration in delivering executive development, leadership development, training, and career pathing programs that support the strategic plan and learning needs of the organization.
- Oversee the delivery of L&D initiatives, including e-learning, workshops, leadership training, and high-potential development programs.
- Assess current and future skills needs, and design targeted learning programs that address gaps and prepare employees for future challenges.
- Develops and manages employee recognition programs, including annual all employee meeting, officer meetings, and annual employee award programs.
- Leverage data and insights to support workforce planning, identifying skill gaps and ensuring that people strategies align with business goals.
- Partners with HR Business Partners, business unit and executive leaders to understand and align talent strategies to key business initiatives and processes.
- Partners with HRIS to design and implement talent management solutions – including succession planning, talent profiles, assessments, and performance management systems.
- Provide insights to senior leadership on talent trends, workforce demographics, and succession planning. Monitors industry developments and trends that affect the Bank’s talent.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related degree is required
- 10+ years of HR (Talent Management) experience and/or training
- Experience with learning and development, talent management and employee engagement.
- Be strategic and analytical with the ability to develop, communicate and implement plans that support the overall goals of the organization
- Strong coaching and creative problem-solving skills.
- Must work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders at all levels
- Be self-motivated and an effective time and project manager with a strong attention to detail
- Have strong change management, project management, and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze and use data to drive decisions and recommendations
- Have tolerance for ambiguity and a successful track record demonstrating organization agility; be knowledgeable about how organizations work; know how to get things done through formal channels and the informal network
- Be results-oriented and have a “hands on” approach
- Ability to build knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered by the Bank
- Ability to identify, understand and define problems, evaluate alternatives, set priorities, manage projects and implement high quality solutions
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to directly manage and communicate multiple projects and priorities depending on organizational needs and strategies
- Possess strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.
At Byline Bank, we value work-life flexibility and support a hybrid work environment for this position. This role allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, with occasional visits to the office based on business needs. Specific in-office days may vary and will be discussed during the interview process.

Byline Bank offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels. Depending on the specific role, compensation may also include discretionary bonuses and other benefit programs. The actual compensation package may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience level, and candidate's location.
