Role
Optum Match is looking for a talented Analytics Director who can lead data architecting and build our analytic and reporting capabilities. This role is pivotal in developing and managing analytics solutions that provide valuable insights and support decision-making for both internal stakeholders and external clients. The ideal candidate will be adept to transforming data into narratives and actionable insights, and use those insights to iteratively improve our ability to learn from our customers as we deploy our people-centered model of:

- Capacity Building: Building the capacity for clinician, care team, and office staff to systematically serve their patients in a high-quality, people-centered way

Primary Responsibilities
Data Integration & Architecture
- Establish reliable pipelines linking MongoDB, Adobe Analytics, client data feeds, and other data sources to a central MS SQL Server
- Define the data schemas, transformations, and flows needed to ensure clean, consistent data for analytics
- Evaluate and optimize data processes, ensuring they can handle growing data volumes without compromising performance
Analytics & Reporting Strategy
- Design and conduct advanced analytics to understand user preferences and behaviors using both product and customer data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor key metrics, define KPIs, and build reporting capabilities
- Internal clients include Clinical Research, Product, Design, Engineering, Implementation, Client Success, Finance, Marketing, UHG Health Equity Office, UHG New Product Development
- External clients include organization leaders, practice managers, and clinicians.
Business Impact & Stakeholder Engagement
- Own the analytic lifecycle from problem definition to data collection, architecture, analysis, reporting, and interpretation
- Translate organizational goals into measurable analytics strategies, determining how data insights can support revenue growth, product usage, user engagement, etc.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and implement improvements in data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows to reduce manual steps and errors
- Leverage appropriate ETL/ELT tools, scripting, or APIs to automate repetitive tasks
- Automate tracking and reporting
- Lead the legal and ethical review of our analytic approaches and changes to our algorithm

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience leading advanced analytics of healthcare and customer data sets
- Fluent in SQL and JSON
- Expertise in statistical analysis (e.g., regression AVOVA, time series analysis, network analysis) and AI/ML approaches
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and analytics solutions
- Expertise in MongoDB (understanding schemas, queries), MS SQL Server, and PowerBI
- Familiarity with Adobe Analytics data structures and potential integrations
- Ability to manipulate multi-table joins, grouping and aggregation, common table expressions, and conditional filters
- Experience working with a variety of data sources. Our sources include MongoDB, Adobe Analytics, client data points, Marketo, etc.
- Experience with API-based data retrieval from client sources
- Ability to make thoughtful decisions motivated by data and research

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
