As an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician, you are responsible for preparing medications, processing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, assisting pharmacists, handling customer service, managing insurance claims, ensuring compliance with regulations, organizing medications, updating patient records, and performing administrative tasks to support pharmacy operations.

Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Indianapolis, IN
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing Indiana Pharmacy Technician License
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience Needed: At least 2 Years of Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $27.00+
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and dispense medications for inpatients under pharmacist supervision
Accurately enter medication orders into the hospital's computer system
Compound and reconstitute medications as needed
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and supplies
Assist in the preparation of sterile products, including IVs and chemotherapy drugs
Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication administration
Participate in medication reconciliation processes for patient admissions and discharges
Assist in the management of automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital
Perform regular checks on medication expiration dates and storage conditions
Support pharmacists in clinical interventions and drug information requests
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of medication safety protocols
Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with regulatory standards
Handle controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and hospital policies
1-3 years of experience in inpatient pharmacy settings required
