Lead the New Jersey Operations team, driving business growth through manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize process safety management, encouraging a robust safety culture through role modeling behavior and a feedback approach.
- Ensure the team is a key partner in the New Product Development process, aiming for timely launches of high-quality products that meet cost, feature, and quality objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency using Thermo Fisher’s Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology.
- Focus on succession planning to ensure a robust leadership and talent pipeline.
- Set customer-focused, strategic direction, aligning with the Division's strategic plan.
- Establish collaboration between various functions to meet site strategic manufacturing objectives.
- Identify and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to drive continual improvement in production and performance metrics.
- Lead and empower the team to achieve high levels of Operational Excellence, efficiency, and inventory turnover through contemporary Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management concepts.
- Be the key decision maker for all manufacturing and logistics operations.
- Meet or exceed financial commitments on P/L, profitability, working capital, and CAPEX investments.
- Drive existing and new projects related to STRAP, X-Matrix, Business Development, and footprint initiatives.
- Travel approximately 25-40%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations leadership with a strong track record of progression and varied functional experiences.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing and automation principles.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary matrix environment.
- Training and implementation experience in lean manufacturing concepts required.
- Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement fields experience.
- Excellent strategic problem solver with proven written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong capability in workforce and succession planning, and people development.
- Proven track record of effectively leading change initiatives.
