The Director, Health System Strategy must be experienced with the implementations at the Large Hospital/IDN level. This involves extensive hospital interaction and relationship development at the Director/Key Stakeholder level as well as sound knowledge of the health-system pharmacy environment including the application of specialty pharmacy within the system. In addition, the Director of Health System Strategy guides the implementation process through demonstrated expertise of clinical and technical processes. Projects range in scope from large hospital to small/medium IDN level implementations requiring standardization across multiple product lines. An effective Director of Health System Strategy must be able to clearly communicate, thoroughly document and demonstrate product implementation competency. This also involves working with the Business Development and Implementation team (with focus on large hospital systems to small/medium IDN's level customers) by advising on clinical and operational options, gathering customer requirements, defining best practices, design decisions and policy and procedures. The Director of Health System Strategy effectively performs the required tasks to ensure successful acceptance of the SHS service and subsequent timely Go-Lives and customer satisfaction. The Director of Health System Strategy must have the ability to establish collaborative working relationships with cross-functional project teams. The Director of Health System Strategy is a mentor for both customers and internal team members.
Job Duties
- Assist Business Development team on sales calls with prospective customers by providing pharmacy and hospital expertise
- Perform clinical assessments of prospective customers to help align proforma to hospital opportunities
- Lead as an SME in the implementation and on-boarding of new customers including collaboration on timelines associated with pharmacy operations, clinical operations, licensure and accreditation.
- Create ongoing relationships with customers by serving as an SME and participating in QBRs and strategic growth initiatives
- Actively manage to and contribute to the best practices and standards of care playbook
- Collaborate with pharmacist team on a weekly basis to ensure alignment, standardization, and progress in the ongoing pursuit of excellence in product delivery and patient outcomes
- Contribute to the profession of pharmacy through active engagement in professional organizations and contributions to the pharmacy literature
- Responsible for Large Hospital/IDN level requirement definition, workflow design, policy/procedure definition, education, etc.
- Project Management responsibilities including meeting planning, communication, documentation etc.
- 40-50% Travel required

Experience/Education
- Leader experience within a large health-system or 7-10 years of experience working with health-systems in a consultative fashion
- Bachelors degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred
- Pharmacy degree required
- Strong background in pharmacy and prior P&L experience over complex business units
- Previous experience running specialty pharmacy for a health system required.
- Prior Sales experience strongly preferred
