The US Oncology Network has an immediate need of a qualified candidate for the role of Sr. Regional Finance Director to join the Financial Operations team. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Vice President of Finance Operations.
This role serves as the primary financial representative for the US Oncology Network's Joint Venture Radiation business, providing strategic advice to senior leadership and physician partners on financial activities such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and performance optimization. The role includes a significant operational finance component, where strategic analysis and insights are essential for implementing targeted growth strategies aligned with the long-range plan. The position also entails overseeing the Radiation JV’s controller functions, including managing, preparing, and controlling the unit’s budgets and forecasts, with support from all operations staff.
In addition, the Senior Regional Finance Director will supervise rotating controllers who support various Oncology practices across the network, ensuring seamless financial operations. These rotating controllers offer comprehensive controllership support to practices, advising physicians and senior leaders on financial programs, leading the management, preparation, and control of budgets and forecasts, and handling close-related activities in line with generally accepted accounting principles. They also assist in onboarding new practices, controllers, and finance professionals as they join the network.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of JV & Practice Rotating Controllers providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities
- Physician and Practice Engagement – Oversee Physicians and Practice Leadership communication of financial results and provide strategic financial support for your team. Actively participate in JV Board meetings as well as collaborate with Physician, Practice and Operations Leadership to prepare and present financial analysis and materials
- Financial Planning & Analysis—Lead monthly reporting/analytics function for leadership, work closely with key business leaders to manage forecasting & budgeting processes, partners with practices and management in execution of initiatives to improve the financial performance
- Key Performance Indicators-- Develop methodologies and approaches to ensure key internal performance indicators are incorporated and monitored as the lead for decision support tool development
- Process Improvement – Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of controllership and financial operations. Collaborate with rotating controllers to streamline workflows, optimize financial reporting, and ensure best practices are consistently applied across the network
- Capital Expenditures-- Supports capital expenditure process including new project analysis and ongoing forecasting of regional capital spend
- Financial Management and Oversight – Oversee Controller coverage to conduct timely, thorough analysis of practice financial results, including focus on such indicators as discounts, expense analysis/control and related impact and receivables aging. Responsible for approval of practice operating expense spend, financial statement account reconciliations, and internal controls
- Business Development-- Supports specific development activities including local/regional product line analysis, projections relating to additional physician recruitment, divestitures, and on-going acquisitions.
- Shared Services Accounting - Collaborate with the Shared Service Accounting team to enhance the accuracy of financial statements and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting financial integrity

Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

- 7 years-experience in Financial Analysis, Valuations, Controllership or similar roles

Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field
- Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred
- 5 years in Healthcare Services; Prior work experience in cancer care and/or hospital administration would be helpful to working with US Oncology’s practices; however other multi-site healthcare experiences, such as renal care, outpatient surgery or multi-specialty care are also attractive
