Current Need
McKesson’s Corporate Strategy and Business Development (CSBD) team is seeking to add a Senior Manager to its Enterprise Strategy & Operations team that is responsible for helping the company achieve its growth goals and strategic vision. The Enterprise Strategy Senior Manager will be tasked with supporting Enterprise leadership in planning, delivering, and implementing high-priority strategic projects that advance McKesson's competitive position in support of the enterprise mission to achieve better business health for the company and
advance better healthcare outcomes for allTM.
In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support corporate level strategic decision-making by conducting projects related to market analysis, emerging industry trends, and the identification of strategic needs as it relates to the pursuit of building new and strengthening existing business endeavors. A successful candidate will enjoy working with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Position Description
- Develops and manages deliverables, work plans, and timelines, with an ability to work on narrow timelines
- Quickly builds expertise and insights about industry trends and stakeholders that can inform business leaders’ perspectives and actions
- Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products and industry-related developments
- Establishes conviction amongst CSBD and business leadership to explore and pursue strategic growth opportunities for the enterprise
- Establishes analytical frameworks and conducts complex business analyses in support of delivering high-impact strategic projects
- Oversees and manages Enterprise Strategy team’s thought leadership deliverables and industry intelligence program
- Applies strategic and analytical thinking to deliver business insights
- Manages discrete threads of work independently and delivers high-quality work products
- Completes macro-economic, general industry, and competitive insights research as needed
- Gathers market data, synthesizing the data into business insights
- Leverages presentations to develop a storyline and POV, while influencing and driving conviction that a given strategy makes sense among key McKesson executive leaders
- Creates high-quality presentations / deliverables for internal and external audiences
- Exhibits the ability to gain cooperation of others by effectively managing stakeholder relationships and expectations
- Works within established framework to facilitate business problem solving and presents hypotheses and recommendations to senior management
- Deals with ambiguity well and puts structure around problems / tasks with limited guidance
- Demonstrates versatility and adaptability to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Maintains a strong work ethic and high attention to detail
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 3 - 5+ years of prior strategy consulting, healthcare consulting, startup, and / or relevant industry experience
- Prior experience in healthcare required
- Prior experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence, financial analysis, and / or insights development
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Critical Skills
- Healthcare Knowledge: general knowledge and expertise in healthcare industry with a preference for backgrounds in biopharma services, oncology and / or healthcare technology
- Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities
- Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
- Financial Acumen: understanding and competency in financial analysis
- Communications Skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and present complex information in an easy-to-understand, persuasive manner
Education
- Must have 4-year Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience
- MBA or other relevant Master’s degree preferred
Location
This role is preferably based in Irving, TX; however, remote candidates with relevant expertise / experience are also encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements
General office demands. Limited travel, around 25%.
