This position is located onsite at our American Health Packaging facility in Columbus, OH. There is no option for remote or hybrid work.
Under moderate supervision of the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for meeting Quality and Operational goals and directing, leading and mentoring Production Operators. The incumbent will be the most senior member of management after hours and will have responsibility for operations, safety and security of the facility. This job position is compliance critical and responsibilities include ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and government regulatory requirements. It is the associate’s responsibility to observe all safety rules. Any condition thought to be hazardous or unsafe should be reported to your supervisor immediately.
- Develops team work amongst all Production and Quality Associates which is focused on Safety and Quality.
- Creates an environment of inclusion and engagement.
- Directs, leads, trains and mentors Production and Quality associates on an assigned shift.
- Responsible for ensuring that daily quality and manufacturing targets are met.
- Responsible for Production and Quality activities in each packaging room, coordinating with Packaging Lead Technicians to direct manufacturing activities in the packaging rooms and maintain a regular visible presence on the floor.
- Responsible for overseeing continuous improvement activities on assigned shift to promote efficiency and effectiveness of production line. Includes oversight of lean activities and 5S activities on assigned shift.
- Provides direction to Production Mechanics.
- Assures all associates follow cGMP and safety procedures.
- Assures all associates follow all company SOP’s and policies.
- May trouble shoot and repair packaging equipment.
- Assists in performance management review programs.
- May assist with set ups, packaging duties and Quality checks before, during and after packaging runs.
- Responsible for various record keeping activities including but not limited to batch records and shift reports.
- Inspects and releases quarantined packaging material or rejects.
- Inspects finished drug product and verifies reconciliation of labels and inserts.
- Reviews batch record for completion and proper documentation.
- Competent in editing batch records and compiling constructive narrative information pertaining to batch production.
- Assists in writing/revising and maintaining task, department, and general SOPs.
- Required to work various shifts, hours and weekends.
- Over sees and performs on-the- job quality and manufacturing training.
- Reviews and approves associates time and attendance for payroll.
- Approves/Denies time off request, ensuring that staffing is maintained appropriately to allow for Safe and Quality focused production to meet business demands.
- Coordinates shift staffing with Director of Manufacturing, Director of Quality Systems and the Director- Operations.
- Completes accident/incident reports and conducts investigation. Participates in follow-up meetings and CAPA.
- May provide back up coverage for QA Manager when needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years of experience in the field or equivalent combination of experience and education, with minimum of 1 year experience leading and directing the work of others required.
Experience:
Experience with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical production and quality concepts and procedures is essential.
