Basic Function
The
Manager, Content Design & Development is responsible for leading and managing the analysis, planning, design, development, and implementation of all TAA education initiatives in alignment with strategic and operational goals. In addition to overseeing a team, they will take an active role in creating and designing innovative educational solutions, utilizing sound instructional design methodologies, current technologies, and effective project management. Their work will support the development of both educational content and strategies to meet organizational development goals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of instructional designers, content developers, and other relevant personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to achieve educational objectives.
Instructional Design and Content Creation
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of instructional content across various education initiatives.
- Use sound instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create engaging, effective learning experiences.
- Develop content that aligns with adult learning principles and meets the needs of diverse learners.
Project Management
- Lead and manage multiple educational projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and budgets are met.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and teams to ensure the smooth execution of educational initiatives.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management and adjust strategies as needed.
Technology Integration
- Integrate the latest technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, eLearning platforms, learning simulation platforms, mobile learning) into content creation and delivery.
- Stay updated with emerging educational technologies and trends to enhance learning experiences.
Strategic Alignment
- Align educational programs and initiatives with organizational strategic goals, ensuring they support both short- and long-term objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their learning needs and ensure the content addresses those needs effectively.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Assess the effectiveness of educational initiatives through feedback, evaluations, and learner outcomes.
- Continuously improve instructional content and delivery methods based on learner feedback and performance metrics.
Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts to ensure content is relevant and supports organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all educational content is accurate, consistent, and of high quality, adhering to organizational standards.
- Review and revise content to keep it current, relevant, and engaging for learners.
Other Duties
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- A 4-year bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or Education related field
Experience:
- 7+ years working experience in instructional design, training and development within a corporate environment
- 5+ years people management experience
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills to help evolve team strategy
- Proficiency with both Articulate Storyline 360 and Articulate Rise, required
- Experience designing a variety of training tools (AI learning simulations, micro-learnings, live workshops, certifications, bootcamps, etc. in addition to e-learnings)
- B2B sales training experience, strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Proficient with Authoring Tools and Learning Managements Systems (Workday Learning).
- Experience with Adobe Programs (Captivate, Photoshop, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and flexibility in a busy office environment
- Ability to solve problems with minimal supervision and balance multiple projects while working constructively in a team environment
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
- Experience producing and editing on-camera video productions a plus
Travel Requirements
- 10% for team meetings and / or other critical interactions when necessary

Compensation:
Target salary range CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA: $121,350 - $170,050
