Temporary Senior Technical Trainer - Upgrades
The Senior Technical Trainer for upgrades will provide expert product-specific training to customers on new features and operation of all Omnicell products. They will partner with the technical implementation team managing upgrades to design and deliver a training strategy to customers upgrading software versions.
Major Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality and effective training that adheres to training industry and Omnicell training standards. Provide special or customized training when required.
- Deliver virtual trainings from your home-office.
- Partner with the Instructional Design team to design, develop, create, and deliver training that meets customer needs.
- Participate in quality assurance audits to ensure that documentation and training tools are accurate and understandable from a user standpoint.
- Manage training project plans to ensure readiness of classes for new product and release training for customers.
- Gather information from multiple resources, including sprint reviews, external validation, and operational readiness teams to understand the enhancements for each new product release.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction to ensure effectiveness of training. Solicit training satisfaction feedback and implement program changes, as needed. Provide customer feedback and requests for product enhancement received during training to technical product management.
- Define and analyze customer or internal Omnicell challenges and recommend solutions to management.
- Demonstrate active departmental engagement and leadership in collaborating with management and other team members to develop and implement final solutions.
- Identify and build relations with appropriate subject matter experts to acquire product knowledge and/or troubleshoot issues.
- Demonstrate good judgment about when to ask for help from senior team members or management about customer issues.
- Participating in cross-functional team meetings, conducting needs analysis and guiding content development for training execution and delivery
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years training experience or in lieu of a degree you must have a High School Diploma/GED with 5 or more years equivalent working experience in Instructor-led or Virtual training environments with software and/or hardware.
- 3 or more years experience in one or more of the following areas: technical training, functional healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare software/hardware support, healthcare IT management, or healthcare IT consulting
- Creating and delivering training outside of product/technical content, such as new employee orientation or soft skills training.
- Using eLearning tools such as Captivate and Camtasia.
- Using Microsoft Office products
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrate excellent presentation and training facilitation skills (against standard Omnicell Facilitation of Learning competency)
- Experience developing new courses
- Detail-oriented, independent and able to adjust to changing priorities
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of instructional design or adult learning theory
- Strong understanding of instructional design best practices
- Experience implementing healthcare hardware or software
Work conditions:
- Position requires up to 20% overnight travel
- Position is field based
