The Immigration Program Manager manages Inmar's Immigration Program, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and seamless support for foreign national associates. Reporting to the Manager, Contract Team this role partners with outside counsel and internal teams to oversee employment-based immigration, including work visas, green card sponsorships, and naturalization. The Immigration Program Manager ensures compliance with employment eligibility verification laws and facilitates a smooth immigration experience for associates and people leaders through expert guidance and efficient case management.
This position is hybrid out of our Winston Salem, NC headquarters. Remote employees will also be considered.
Administrative (70%)
● Oversee and execute Inmar’s Immigration Program to ensure 100% compliance with all applicable immigration laws and regulations.
● Partner with outside counsel and internal teams to manage immigration casework, including work visa applications, green card sponsorships, and naturalization processes.
● Help develop and update policies to ensure fair and legal hiring practices for foreign national associates.
● Maintain and improve systems to ensure USCIS-required documents and Form I-9 verifications are compliant.
● Ensure hiring practices comply with immigration laws and prevent discrimination.
● Track, manage, and maintain documentation for all immigration cases, ensuring timely submission of required applications and renewals.
● Support foreign national associates through the immigration process by facilitating necessary filings, collecting supporting documents, and maintaining accurate records.
● Conduct legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedent cases to provide informed guidance to HR, legal, and business teams.
● Stay current on changing immigration policies and ensure key stakeholders are updated on new developments that may impact Inmar’s workforce.
● Advise on appropriate visa options for temporary and permanent employment-based immigration matters.
● Assist in reviewing and drafting legal documents, contracts, and policies related to immigration and employment compliance.
Operational (30%)
● Guide associates and managers through the immigration process, addressing concerns and ensuring a seamless experience.
● Work with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of immigration compliance within broader HR policies and practices.
● Identify opportunities for process improvement in immigration case management and compliance tracking.
● Support risk mitigation strategies related to immigration matters by ensuring adherence to federal and state employment regulations.
● Manage contract records, obtain necessary approvals and signatures, and assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Business Administration, Political Science, Law, Legal Services, or a related field. required
- 4-6 years of related immigration work experience, preferably in a corporate law department; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position required
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail, Calendar). Skilled in using case management software, legal research tools (Bloomberg, Practical Law, Workday, Service Now), and office productivity applications (Monday.com). (Medium proficiency)
- Immigration Laws & Regulations: Strong understanding of U.S. immigration law, including employment-based visas (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, etc.), green card sponsorship, naturalization, and compliance requirements (I-9, E-Verify, PERM process). (High proficiency)
- Legal Documentation & Case Management: Knowledge of legal forms, petitions, and filing procedures required by USCIS, Department of Labor (DOL), and other agencies. (High proficiency)
- Legal Research & Case Law: Ability to interpret statutes, precedents, and policy changes affecting immigration and employment law. (High proficiency)
- Legal Writing & Documentation: Proficiency in drafting petitions, support letters, responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and legal correspondence. (Medium proficiency)
- Case Management & Organization: Strong ability to track multiple immigration cases, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely filings. (High proficiency)
- Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately prepare/review legal documents and identify discrepancies that may lead to compliance issues or case delays. (High proficiency)
- Work Independently & Collaboratively: Capable of managing tasks autonomously while working effectively with attorneys, HR teams, and external counsel. (Medium proficiency)
