Job Summary:
As a Controlled Substance Manager you are responsible for all controlled substance functions of Regulatory Compliance, interacting with other Company departments, as well as all applicable statutory and regulatory state and federal entities in order to ensure the Company's full compliance with all federal and state requirements relating
to the distribution of controlled substances.
Responsibilities:
- Warehouse security including cage and vault.
- Working with warehouse controlled substance supervisor to ensure that all controls are received, stored, packed, and shipped in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and company SOPs.
- Ensure controlled substance inventories are conducted in a timely manner.
- Ensure required records are kept up to date, and maintained appropriately.
- Ensure that the company’s electronic suspicious order monitoring system meets all statutory and regulatory requirements with respect to the review, evaluation, release or denial of each controlled substance order.
- Gathering and reviewing all necessary customer information (CSQ, dispense data, physician information, state pharmacy and physician board records, google mapping, ARCOS data, possible site visits, etc.) required to determine allowance for customer purchasing controlled substances, as well as the monthly quantities allocated to each approved customer beginning with existing customers.
- Interact with DEA, state boards of pharmacy, and all other applicable regulatory agencies as the company’s primary point of contact.
- Conduct regular training sessions with Sales representatives, regarding controlled substances, regulatory requirements, and company policies relating to the sale of controls.
- Work with IT department to ensure that the Compliance department has access to up-to-date data regarding sales of controls, by customer and SKU on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, with the ability to overlay customer dispense and ARCOS data.
- Work with Procurement and IT departments regarding the ordering of Schedule II products through CSOS, as well as monitoring quantities and timing of ordering product, in accordance with customer requirements.
- Ensure all reporting (ARCOS, state reports, etc.) is completed and filed, accurately and timely.
- Ensure all SOPs and Job Aids relating to Controlled Substance Distribution are complete, accurate, and in compliance with all federal and state statutory and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- 5 years supervisory experience in all aspects of controlled substance distribution required.
- Experience in statutory, and regulatory compliance regulations.
- Strong judgment, and ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to work quickly, and efficiently.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Good analytical skills, with strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Point and Adobe PDF preferred.
- Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
