Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills development.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred.
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions for students with diverse learning needs.
