POSITION: Sr. Engineer, R&D
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Baxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Sr. Engineer, R&D with the following duties:
- Technical product expert accountable for overall sustaining activities for Advanced Surgery products;
- Maintaining the Design History File for assigned products on behalf of the Design Owning Organization (DOO) and following compliance and regulatory requirements globally;
- Support New Product Development (NPD) projects as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for the overall design and development activities;
- Contribute for the continuous product improvement and product innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related field plus 3 years of related experience
- Will accept any level of experience in the following skills:
- Ensure product quality by inspection of in-process and finished material using metrology tools (dial gauges, height and depth gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, roughness testers) and identify areas for improvement using data driven methodology;
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and investigate the problem to identify the root cause using Fishbone diagram, 5Why and 6M techniques and keep track of production targets for on time product delivery and scrap reduction;
- Develop and document protocols and reports for design assurance in accordance with industry acknowledged ISO standards;
- Establish system requirements, design transfer plans and conduct design reviews for the new product launches and upgrade of existing configurations;
- Accountable for design control and risk management activities by applying the principals of Product Development Lifecycle Management (PDLM) in compliance with 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485;
- Provide technical support for quality and regulatory compliance for all design and development activities throughout the PDLM cycle;
- Perform technical and risk assessments for the material, design and process related changes.
- Domestic and international travel required 1-2 times/year.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $131,560 - $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
