The STEM Clinical Program Manager will fulfill a key formal management and oversight function on this fast-growing team. Our team works with new and existing state Commercial Medicaid and Dual (Medicare + Medicaid) plans to review a wide variety of Outpatient services.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provides direct oversight to a team of Care Advocates on the Outpatient Utilization Management Team
- Day - to - day management of the team including problem solving, providing guidance and direction, root-cause analysis of and response to complaints, handling escalated calls, creating and maintaining team scripts, templates, and workflows, maintaining team metrics, completing chart and call audits, communicating monthly metric and audit feedback, ongoing performance management, year-end performance evaluations, addressing employee issues, interfacing with HR partners, hiring and training of new staff
- Monitor and consistently meet departmental quality and performance standards for clinical staff
- Ensuring that the team meets or exceeds metric goals and utilization management targets
- Consulting on the production and use of data, reporting, and analytics for successful team performance and productivity
- Collaboration with peer functional leaders to ensure effective, interactive workflows and support for the consumer
- Maintaining and improving team Vital Signs scores, Employee Engagement scores, and working towards increasing STEM customers’ Net Promoter Scores
- Development and application of STEM processes and workflows across a variety of markets, each with its own complex set of services and requirements
- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
- Ensuring implementation of ‘best practices’ within the levels of care managed by the team, as well as ongoing adherence to these best practices
- Ensuring recovery and resiliency principles are utilized, translating these into meaningful processes and offerings for consumers
- Oversight and implementation of disaster recovery response in the event of critical vendor, system, or facility outages
- Accountability with Director and VP for effective collaboration with Market Leaders to ensure performance targets are supported through functional team activity

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling OR Ph.D or PsyD in Psychology
- License must be active and unrestricted to practice at the independent level
- 3+ years post licensure experience
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Behavioral Care Advocate
- STEM experience
- Background or knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques for children, specifically Applied Behavior Analysis
- Proven solid operational focus with demonstrated project management, change management, and execution skills
- Proven self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision and drive results with disciplined follow-though
- Proven solid verbal and written communication skills

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
