Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Product Market Strategy is a member of the Platform Services Product Management team within our Product division. The main focus of this role will be to drive strategy and business outcomes to support our Payer initiatives.
The Senior Manager, Product Market Strategy will be accountable for influencing and executing against our atheanPayer initiatives. You will spend significant time in market, understanding and responding to industry trends then using that data to build a strategy and product roadmap.
The industry and regulatory landscape are changing rapidly, and you will be successful by evaluating the opportunities of that landscape and executing to benefit our clients, their members, and our business. You have experience managing cross-functional programs and know how to drive execution across a large set of internal stakeholders that are organizationally outside of your authority. You are comfortable managing multiple major business priorities. You are adept at influencing people within and outside of the organization. You will act as a market-facing spokesperson for industry groups, prospects, and clients. Our goal is to lead the industry towards a more interoperable ecosystem and you will be a critical internal player in succeeding to reach that goal.
This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the Boston, MA office one day a week.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze user, business, and partner activity to identify opportunities in our products
Develop product strategy in the form of use cases, technology use, integrations, and resources required to act on our objectives
Develop business cases alongside our financial planning and analysis team to evaluate our strategy against our bottom line
Manage cross-functional program with product teams across the company to prioritize and ensure implementations
Partner with product leaders and high-level executives to influence their product strategy and shape the vision of athenahealth products, based on a deep understanding of market trends mapped to athenahealth’s product’s strengths and opportunities and those of our competitors
Work with the Legal and Compliance teams to translate rules such as the 21st Century Cures Act regulations into business requirements
Ensure that athenahealth represents a POV that is consistent and aligned to our business objectives in industry trade groups and standards development organizations
Execute on the go-to-market strategy for new product launches, including coordination of client engagement, feedback, and contracting

Typical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
7+ years overall professional experience, inclusive of a minimum of 4 years of product management experience
Experience working with complex regulatory requirements
Experience with gathering technical requirements in a SaaS-based product environment; must have basic working knowledge of FHIR standards
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional programs
Ability to lead market research and data-driven analysis, gathering perspectives from a variety of sources and combining with business strategy to define a path forward
Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence senior executives and lead presentations to external audiences, especially enterprise clients
