Position Summary...
The Senior Staff Accountant, under the supervision of the Controller, maintains the general ledger and prepares multiple financial documents for the effective and efficient running of the company. Maintaining the general ledger involves preparing daily and cyclical highly time-sensitive and fine detailed reports from multiple departments. The Senior Staff Accountant will contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
This position will interact with multiple levels of personnel of the company and external agencies daily to generate and verify financial reports using multiple systems and digital databases such as Microsoft Office Products.
Job Duties...
- Maintain physical and digital filing systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare daily and cyclical time-sensitive reports.
- Oversee the daily bank reconciliations
- Prepares monthly departmental reports.
- Prepares monthly financial reports including the General Ledger, Standard and Adjusting Journal Entries; reporting, tracking, and resolving any discrepancies.
- Maintains accuracy of fixed asset accounting.
- Assists senior department personnel with quarterly and annual budget development and performance projections.
- Tracks and verifies multiple project completion tracking reports.
- Reviews weekly unpaid bills report to ensure accurate coding, classification, and completeness.
- Interacts with accounting personnel to complete the monthly closing processes.
- Prepare the company’s tax forms including but not limited to Usage Tax, 1099’s, Property Taxes, and Franchise Tax.
- Participating daily in accounting operations.
Position Requirements...
- Bachelor’s degree in business accounting degree – or equivalent diploma and CPA or CPA Eligible. with 3 years of experience in an accounting department in accounts receivable, collections, analysis, and/or reconciliation. Should have experience with General Ledger and Financial Statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business accounting or equivalent diploma and Accounting certification in QuickBooks or equivalent with 5 years of experience in an Accounting Department in accounts receivable, collections, analysis, and/or reconciliation is preferred.

Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some Flexibility as occasional extensions after 5:00 p.m. and weekends may be necessary to meet business needs, but not highly anticipated.

Physical Requirements...
- This is a largely sedentary role; however, a short period of walking between buildings daily and some filing is required.
- This position would require the ability to lift 25 Lbs. (if an object weighs more than 50 Lbs. ARL requires this to be a two-person job or use of carts).
- Ability to use hand strength and finger dexterity to perform fine manipulations of typing and writing.
- Operation of standard office equipment.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English to receive and communicate information for standard and complex operations and emergencies clearly and accurately.
- Requires visual acuity to read and write words and numbers with or without correction.
- Requires hearing communications accurately with or without correction.
