Position Summary...
ARL Bio Pharma is the leading Pharmaceutical quality assurance and testing laboratory in the nation. The Accessioning department is responsible for receiving, cataloging, sorting, dispositioning, and storing of samples, as well as maintaining relationships and communications with clients regarding sample logistical issues. The Associate Supervisor for Accessioning is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing employee timecards, conducting interviews, and ensuring smooth departmental functions for assigned elements of the Accessioning department.
Key Responsibilities...
- Timecard Management: Approve timecards and apply PTO/STO using Paycor.
- Performance Metrics: Collaborate with appropriate groups to track and report monthly metrics. Track, verify, and complete employee action forms, including but not limited to performance evaluations, training, development, and disciplinary actions; may lead disciplinary meetings when necessary.
- Employee Development: Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with team members.
- Recruitment: Review job applications and resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and assist in identifying potential personnel for sub-departments.
- Meeting Preparation: Prepare for and participate in weekly meetings.
- Employee Relations: Resolve employee issues and maintain records of call outs, late arrivals, and early departures.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with the Laboratory Supervisor and other senior department leadership on changes to department policies and procedures to increase efficiency.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges and employee concerns promptly and effectively.
- Compliance: Investigate and document deviations and/or CAPAs when necessary.
- Training and Mentoring: Train, mentor, and coach Sample Administration personnel on their assigned tasks, including all storage, disposal, and handling of samples and chemicals, and ensuring proper protocol is followed.

Expected Hours of Work: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with some variation based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications...
High School Diploma is required with some completion of college coursework preferred.
Work Environment...
Work primarily in typical office setting with some intermittent time spent in laboratories as necessary. This is an on-site role and remote work is not a feasible option.
Physical Requirements...
This is a partially sedentary role; however, a short period of walking between buildings daily and some filing is required.
This position would require the ability to lift 50 Lbs. (If an object weighs more than 50 Lbs. ARL requires this to be a two-person job or use of carts).
Ability to sit and stand in front of a computer and/or laboratory equipment for extended periods, with intermittent twisting/bend to reach instruments or supplies surrounding equipment. Routinely stand and walk in operations of duties.
Ability to use hand strength and finger dexterity to perform grasping and fine manipulation of precise equipment.
Operation of standard office equipment.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English to receive and communicate information for standard and complex operations and emergencies clearly and accurately.
Requires visual acuity to read and write words and numbers and to see in the normal visual range including ability to distinguish colors and shapes with or without correction.
Requires hearing communications accurately with or without correction.

Because of the vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards, and we do random drug testing on all our employees.
