Summary
Responsible for safely collecting and managing pharmaceuticals for transportation and disposal. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with collections of chemical and hazardous waste within our hospital/customer locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.
- Ensures Compliance, Health and Safety
- Performs internal collection of material from the customers Satellite accumulation areas
- Performs chemical pour off, bulking/consolidation
- Packages waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
- Ensures paperwork is complete and compliant and that all areas of the work areas are maintained in safe, professional and compliant manner
- Completes waste stream sampling and profiling
- Interact with the local disposal team for scheduling and paperwork

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and with little supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 plus pounds.
- Immunizations re required, as this position is in a Healthcare/Hospital setting.
- 1+ years of related work experience or education.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Unknown handling certification (preferred but not required)
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Chemical and or Hazardous Waste experience Required
Language Skills
Ability to effectively communicate in English, read, and understands regulatory requirements. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or members of the business community. Ability to complete forms and correspondence. Ability to effective present information to individual customers.
REPONSIBILITIES
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as weights and tare weights. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical form.
