We are looking for a Database Administrator, II to join the Zebra team. You will plan computerized databases, including relational database, No-SQL database, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. You will administrator with monitoring, networking, troubleshooting, provisioning, and patching.
- Location- Onsite in the Kennesaw, Georgia office
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively to support the installation, creation, configuration, implementation, administration and support of Zebra’s Progress database-based applications and other SQL Server databases.
- This role will perform day-to-day Progress and SQL Server L2/L3 support activities (including backup and recovery) and operation including, availability of databases and application that are implemented to support Zebra’s business tool, While tuning applications and databases for optimal performance.
- Identify and implement innovative ideas, including automation of regular tasks, to optimize and enhance database operations
- Identifies and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
- Internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.
- Collaborates with the team regarding company-wide, web-enabled solutions.
- Should be able to understand and work closely with our Database Team.
- Hands on experience with Google Cloud is Preferred or any other cloud provider.
- Dev-Ops Experience is preferred like Terraform, Jenkins, Python, Bash etc.
- Other Relational Databases like IBM DB2, Google CloudSQL, AlloyDB, Postgres etc.
- Should also Participate in 24X7 on-call Production Support or during business requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical BS degree
- 3+ years of experience
- Experience in Relational or No-SQL Database Technologies or Database as a Service Cloud SQL experience
- Mongo DBA and Atlas experience
- Basic DevOps experience; Shell, Bash, Python
- SaaS – cloud architecture experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree beneficial
- DB2, Google Cloud SQL, Big Querry will be preferred
- Experience in Google Cloud Platform or other cloud provider like AWS
- Experience with end user issues
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively on projects
- MongoDB Certification will be preferred
- Understanding of Cloud Architectural Patterns
- Experience in documenting and maintaining up to date systems procedures
- Experience with end user issues
- Licenses, Certifications or Special Qualifications: Certifications in Database Technologies would be preferred
Must be able to attend in Kennesaw, GA office.
Must be able to participate in 24X7 on call production support or during business requirements- on call rotation.
