As a member of Optum Health’s Midwest Region senior leadership team, the Vice President of Product Operations (VP, PO) will be responsible for both the strategic planning and tactical execution of the Midwest Region’s key growth and product initiatives. The VP, PO will have a solid bias to action while strategically thinking years ahead across the multiple dimensions of growth, innovation and integration in health care. The successful individual will work closely with the CEO, COO, CFO, President of OHN for the Midwest and other Midwest market leaders to drive an aggressive growth and innovation agenda. The role will interact and collaborate on important cross-business initiatives driving the development of new products and growth strategies that impact Optum at the national level. This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves, see-the-big-picture, and understand-the-details kind of job.

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams across Optum to unlock value with new, integrated strategies and products that impact national programs with board-level interest
- Oversee the development of strategy documents, product road maps, the articulation of insights and be able to hold numerous others accountable for deliverables on teams that don’t directly report to the Midwest region
- Easily partner and influence teams in other businesses and drive the execution of key strategic and new product / partnership deliverables
- Present growth opportunities and new products to internal stakeholders to secure approvals
- In partnership with market teams, who will run ongoing operations, develop execution plans to bring specific growth strategies to life, driving sustainable and profitable growth
- Explore and identify opportunities to leverage Optum Health’s solutions and scale to expand patient impact and reduce medical costs
- Establish KPIs and dashboards associated with revenue growth and execution that will drive efficiencies and processes and ensure achievement of goals
- Maintain a robust understanding of the Midwest region and Optum’s overall solutions, as well as the competition and market dynamics
- Drive appropriate market research to support growth, product, collaboration and innovation initiatives
- Identify and develop solid relationships within the market and across Optum
- Utilize data to inform strategies, track performance, and drive continuous improvement, oftentimes having to solve for where to obtain the data
- Assess and mitigate risks, adapting strategies through competitive and regulatory changes
- Participate in market events that can generate meaningful relationships and awareness of Optum
- Cultivate and maintain solid working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization in order to exchange or convey information and foster strategic partnerships and achieve common goals

Required Qualifications
- 15+ years in management, consulting, business development, and/or client relationship management
- Experience in leading growth, product and strategic initiatives
- Experience evaluating new markets, channels and building relationships
- A successful track record of forging collaborative relationships and partnerships (both internally and externally)
- Proven to be a strategic thinker who can focus on the big picture while creating and executing against a growth, strategic or product plan
- Proven to be adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment
- Proven excellent organization, project management and business planning skills, enabling efficient management of a broad portfolio of opportunities
- Proven refined and persuasive communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proven ability and willingness to do hands on work, in a low resource and lean environment and culture
- Proven ability to identify and produce excellent results in a growth and financial performance-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to successfully influence without direct authority and drive outcomes required
- Ability to travel 25%

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $147,300 to $282,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
