The Role
QuidelOrtho is seeking an
Associate People & Culture Business Partner (P&C BP) to proactively engage with P&C leaders and various teams to create a culture of autonomy, responsibility, and curiosity. The Associate P&C BP will help develop and implement P&C strategies, drive employee engagement and contribute to a positive culture. This position will be located onsite in a hybrid schedule (minimum of 3 days/week onsite) at our Athens, Ohio manufacturing site.
The Responsibilities
- Partner with P&C leaders and various teams to understand key objectives and organizational challenges and contribute to delivery of high-impact solutions. Align and support the development of short- and long-term P&C strategies for business units that influence and drive outcomes in collaboration with mid to senior-level leaders.
- Support P&C Initiatives and Projects: Assist in the development and implementation of P&C strategies and programs that enhance employee engagement and performance.
- Employee Relations: Support needs in employee relations by providing guidance to employees and managers, following internal processes related to employee relations and influencing decisions.
- Talent Management: Assist in identifying talent needs and participate in recruitment, succession planning, onboarding, employee engagement and development activities.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze employee data to identify trends and recommend solutions for improvement in engagement, performance, and retention.
- Organizational Support: Contribute to the design and implementation of organizational structures that align with business strategies.
- Culture Promotion: Champion our culture by promoting The QuidelOrtho Way and Core Behaviors to guide decision-making and drive thoughtful change management in a fast-paced environment. Support initiatives that promote an inclusive and engaged work environment, encouraging employees to bring their authentic selves to work.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Project Participation: Participate in and support various People & Culture projects and initiatives.

- Apply experience in multiple P&C disciplines and build experience in others (Talent Management, Total Rewards, TA, Employee Relations, Compensation, etc..).
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent P&C related laws and regulations.
- Ability to collaborate with Centers of Excellence peer groups and implement global programs.
- Be responsible for the execution of cyclical HR processes (employee relations, performance reviews, compensation reviews, talent reviews) and provide appropriate consultation to leaders.
- In collaboration with P&C Leadership, guide and coach managers on how to appropriately manage and resolve complex people matters (e.g., performance management and total rewards).
- Leverage best practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
The Individual
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree, MBA or certification a plus (SHRM)
- Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience in Human Resources, at least one (1) year as HRBP.
- Must be proficient at managing multiple priorities and accomplishing simultaneous demands in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Must excel at analyzing problems, issues and data to provide innovative human resource solutions.
- Must be effective at promoting collaborative cross-functional working relationships, deliver effective communication, and able to communicate information in a clear, concise and tactful manner.
- Engages in problem solving with little direct supervision.
- Developing financial and business acumen, project management and broad HR experience
- Must be a thoughtful, agile, proactive decision-maker and able to lead with curiosity, candor, and care.
- Demonstrable track record of consulting with leadership within an organization to contribute to building long-range HR strategies.
- Must be proficient in local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Proven cultural change agent, with ability to challenge the status quo and develop creative solutions to global business challenges.
- Track record of high integrity and credibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS and other HR software systems and achieve results through others. Workday experience preferred.
- Must have strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis, interpretation skills and ability to generate insights to influence action and drive results.
- Up to 25% travel required to our other offices (Athens, OH, Rochester, NY and San Diego, CA).

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 70% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 30% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $83,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
