This role maintains general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements. This role is actively involved in the monthly and quarterly close process, which includes preparing entries, reviewing account classifications, and preparing and reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Primary Responsibilities - Cash Management:
- Prepare daily cash report and monthly cash reconciliations, working within banking systems and interactions with parent company treasury department
- Reconciliations between billing and cash management system, research discrepancies and work with managers to resolve balancing issues
- Month-end close and financial reporting:
- Support the month-end close process including monthly journal entries relating to revenues, expenses, balance sheet and cash
- Understand the general ledger and business reporting structures, identify and resolve account discrepancies, research postings from various sources across different platforms and report findings to team members
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and expense reconciliations, answer questions about variances and monitor trends
- Adhere to all monthly reporting compliance deadlines
- Analyses:
- Assist team with monthly variance analysis utilizing actual to budget and forecast financial information, monitor balances and report out fluctuations
- Analyze and prepare ad hoc requests as needed to support the finance department and management within the organization
- Annual Property Tax Declarations
- Assist the accounting team with the preparation, balancing and review of the annual property tax declaration filings for approximately 50 locations throughout Connecticut
- Collaborate with accounting staff and find efficiencies to help streamline the annual reporting process
- Fixed Assets and Budgeting
- Support fixed asset reporting requirements and associated month end work
- Provide support for various budgeting and capital requirements as needed during designated times of the year
- Preparing and reviewing key reconciliations monthly
- Researching and resolving account and transaction issues / differences as needed
- Completing other special projects as required
- Effectively communicate with business partners (finance, other key business individuals)
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting or relevant bookkeeping experience
- Advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel
- Proven effective organizational skills, solid attention to detail, self-starter
- Proven ability to communicate effectively within various settings
- Proven team player as well as ability to work independently
- Ability to commute to the office once per month to handle month-end close

Connecticut Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $48,300 to $94,500 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
