Your Role at Baxter

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identification, development, and execution of sourcing activities related to the spare parts business. Role will focus on supplier partnerships that drive continuity of supply, while achieving and delivering revenue for the business.
This is a full-time, hybrid position in Batesville, Indiana. The candidate would work from home on Monday and Friday, and report to the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The hours of operation are 8:30am-5:00pm.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Act as a resource to the spare parts business teams, and others, using procurement knowledge.
- Responsible for definition and implementation of assigned commodity strategy based on knowledge of regional markets, suppliers, and plants.
- Build cost saving opportunities through driven bidding, supplier development, continuous improvements, transfer office, etc.
- Perform as a change agent to improve and supervise suppliers’ performance through continuous improvements activities.
- Establish service levels for key suppliers.
- Maintain and review supplier performance to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery)
- Ensure timely resolution of all disputes.
- Negotiate purchase price, contract terms and conditions to deliver on spend cover by contracts.
- Work with critical suppliers to improve current performance and develop new opportunities.
- Support of business objectives for cycle/response time, quality assurance, risk mitigation, and total cost.
- Create, submit, and gain approvals for business cases to support on-going products
- Manage project risks including schedule, budget, resources, and performance expectations.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in negotiations, contract, and supplier management
- Experience in strategic Sourcing
- Ability to read and understand product drawings and service manuals
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Creation of business cases; and ability to present and articulate business cases
- Ability to perform advanced data and financial analysis
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices as well as industry trends and technologies
- Root cause analysis, problem solving, and barrier removal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate and manage suppliers both domestically and internationally
- Experience leading multi-functional teams and driving projects to completion without having direct supervisory responsibility

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $76,000 to $104,500. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
