Summarized Purpose:
In this highly visible and essential role, the ideal candidate will research, plan and manage the successful execution of conferences and events. They will manage planning and creating conferences that drive business objectives and marketing goals. Serves as liaison between the organization’s stakeholders and its partners, trade associations and outside vendors.
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
- Plan and execute all logistical aspects of internal and external conferences and events globally
- Be a leading member of cross functional planning teams for large scale meetings and conferences that include high level executives, setting timelines, deliverables, strategy, and project plans
- Drive ROI by partnering with market development and commercial teams to understand conference goals and objectives. Ensure all qualified leads are captured and initiate post-event follow up
- Effectively manage external vendors and internal stakeholders while establishing collaborative relationships
- Skilled in strategy, planning and forecasting of budgets for conferences and events of varying size and scope Manage booth properties, graphics, printed materials, and promotional items by working with external vendors and internal stakeholders
- Partner with marketing tech and market development groups to help promote our presence at conferences, which may include website, intranet, social media, blog posts and email campaigns
- Manage internal marketing outreach and communication materials on intranet conference related pages
- Manage special conference related projects as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years) in the Life Sciences Industry.
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Working Conditions and Environment:
- Occasional travel both domestic and international (Up to 30%)
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
- Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Frequent mobility required.
- Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
- Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 30 lbs.
- Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.
- Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
