Responsibilities
- Oversees the plant training organization ensure site compliance to training requirements are maintained.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs site wide.
- Partner with client groups, subject matter experts (SME’s) and other training staff to determine training needs and design, update and deliver training materials and programs as necessary to meet business needs. This can include programs related to but not limited to onboarding, technical and functional skill proficiency, and leadership development.
- Establish process to effectively vet for technical skills knowledge as part of the hiring process.
- 5 Create training materials, manuals, and e-learning modules tailored to various employee groups.
- Facilitate training sessions using a variety of methods, including in-person workshops, virtual training, and on-the-job training.
- Coordinate with external training providers as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Continuously improve training programs and evaluate the effectiveness based on evaluation results and industry standard processes.
- Establish, maintain, and communicate training metrics to evaluate current programs and analyze opportunities for improvements.
- Ensure all training programs follow industry regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, certifications, and employee progress.
- Support career development initiatives by finding opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to help them achieve their career goals.
- Work closely with HR, safety, and production teams to align training programs with organizational goals.
- Communicate training schedules, updates, and requirements to all relevant stake holders.
- Promote a Servant Leadership style that is proactive, open and customer focused.
- Provide Servant Leadership to Training Coordinator
- Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree required. Preferred in HR, Organizational Management or Business.
- Training certification in a Professional training organization is highly preferred.
- 2-4 years successfully leading the learning and development function within a manufacturing environment
- Servant Leadership experience is required.
- Lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment and safety protocols preferred
- Experience in using learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies
- Demonstrated success in working with teams to solve problems, facilitating meetings, and presenting results.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead multiple projects.

Work Environment
- BD is a smoke-free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy
- False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
- Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
