Position Title: Biologist II (RDTH Imaging & Flow Cytometry core)

Reports to: ATL Manger
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked: Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Biologist II is responsible for helping develop innovative, game-changing therapies for the treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases and their associated complications using cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques with an emphasis on Imaging and Flow Cytometry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand cell and molecular biology to establish cell-based assays and facilitate the identification and characterization of targets that play a role in inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases.
- Responsible for Flow Cytometry, Fluorescent microscopy, and Confocal microscopy
- Understand molecular biology techniques such as: Immunohistochemistry, PMBC Prep
- Data interpretation & troubleshooting/optimization of predefined methods
- Record data in electronic notebooks
- Data presentation during regular staff meetings
- Participate and assist with new technology onboarding and set up
- General lab maintenance
- Troubleshoot and perform method validation
- Draft job aids and protocols
Skills & Proficiencies:
- Candidates need to be self-starters; capable of working independently and directing their own day-to-day workload with minimal supervision
- Strong written and oral communications skills.

- Critical thinking and proactive communication and escalation
- Enthusiastic to learn new technologies
Education and Experience:
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cell biology, Flow Cytometry, Fluorescent microscopy and Confocal microscopy (through an industry or academic research position).
- Experience in data analysis and results interpretation
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
