Job Description
We build software in several places at once: our iQuest platform, our e-commerce website, the integrations that connect our systems, and the data and reporting the business runs on. Much of it is built with development partners. We're looking for a Software Operations Manager to own how all of that work gets done, from the moment a request is logged to the moment it's live and supported.
You'll design and run one development process across every team and partner. That covers clear steps, sensible quality gates, a predictable release calendar and the metrics that show it's working. You'll be the person who makes releases calm and routine.
Job Requirements
What you'll bring
- 6+ Years in software delivery, with at least 3 owning a development or release process.
- Real-world experience running delivery in Jira or Azure DevOps.
- A working understanding of Git, pull requests and CI/CD pipelines. You don't need to write code, but you're comfortable reading a pipeline.
- Experience keeping outsourced or offshore development partners on track.
- A track record of building QA and acceptance processes that stick.
- Clear, concise writing and the ability to explain process to technical and non-technical people.
Nice to have:
- Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience (HIPAA, SOC 2);
- Agile or ITIL certification;
- Familiarity with .NET and Azure, Magento, or Epicor Prophet 21.
Job Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Own the development process for every software stream at IMS, and keep our Jira and Azure DevOps workflows in line with it.
- Run the release calendar and releases: sprint cadence, code cutoffs, go/no-go, deployment, rollback and release notes.
- Make quality non-negotiable: define how and where every change is tested and accepted, and make sure nothing skips the line.
- Keep our development partners on the same process, with agreed service levels and regular reviews of how delivery is going.
- Connect support and development, so customer issues reach the right developers quickly and customers hear back.
- Measure what matters: on-time releases, defects, cycle time, backlog health, and report on them each month.
- Build security and compliance in, including how we handle protected health information in a healthcare setting.
- Keep the documentation current, so the process is written down and easy to follow.
