Staff Pharmacist – 2nd Shift – Newport News, VA (Contract)
We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a closed-door, long-term care (LTC) pharmacy in Newport News, Virginia. This is an ASAP start opportunity with a Monday–Friday second-shift schedule and rotating weekends. Candidates interested in working exclusively second shift or rotating between first and second shifts are welcome. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
Term of Assignment:
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Rotating weekends
- Open to candidates seeking a dedicated second-shift schedule or a rotating schedule consisting of 2–3 second shifts per week, with the remaining shifts on first shift
Job Duties:
- Perform first- and second-level prescription verification (PV1 and PV2)
- Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Oversee medication filling and dispensing processes
- Support daily pharmacy operations in a closed-door LTC setting
Requirements:
- Clear, active Virginia pharmacist license
- Recent pharmacy experience
- Long-term care (LTC) experience preferred but not required
- New graduates welcome
- Familiarity with FrameworkLTC software is a plus; training is available
Team/Culture:
- Closed-door long-term care pharmacy
- Approximately 600 prescriptions processed daily
