Role Description This full-time Senior Project Manager, Financial Transformation role is a hybrid position based in Richmond, VA, with flexibility for part-time work from home. The Senior Project Manager leads complex financial transformation initiatives, including planning, organizing, and executing projects that modernize financial processes, systems, and reporting. Daily responsibilities include managing cross-functional project teams, defining project scope and timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and compliance requirements. The role oversees risk identification and mitigation, communicates project status to stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement in financial workflows and operational efficiency. This position also supports change management activities, such as stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and documentation of new processes to ensure successful adoption.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience with Expediting and Expeditor responsibilities to ensure timely completion of project deliverables and critical-path activities.
- Knowledge of Logistics Management, particularly as it relates to coordinating resources, timelines, and dependencies across financial and operational teams.
- Background in Inspection or quality assurance to validate project outputs, financial data integrity, and adherence to standards and controls.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, and systems transformation in large or matrixed organizations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and build effective relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level presentations and status reports.
- Experience with change management, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), or PM frameworks (e.g., PMI, Agile) is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, CPA) is a plus.
