Key Qualifications
- Valid credentials as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Active licensure as required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional advanced certifications (such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP) are a plus
- Experience with ventilator management, airway care, and administering therapeutic interventions
- Strong decision-making abilities and adept at working in a multidisciplinary setting
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients with respiratory disorders in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy
- Operate and maintain respiratory devices such as ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and pulse oximeters
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment usage
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response and code situations
- Accurately chart interventions and progress while adhering to facility and regulatory protocols
