Job Summary
The VP, Product Management is responsible for setting and executing the strategic vision for Outcomes' product portfolio. This leadership role drives product innovation, market expansion, and clinical program strategy while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, customer needs, and industry trends.
The VP, Product Management leads Product Management and Clinical Program Management functions and works cross-functionally with Clinical Services, Technology, Operations, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and senior leadership to develop, launch, optimize, and scale products and clinical programs that deliver meaningful outcomes for customers, patients, providers, and pharmacists.
This role is accountable for portfolio strategy, product roadmap prioritization, organizational leadership, financial performance, market competitiveness, and establishing best practices across the product organization.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, develop, and inspire Product Management and Clinical Program Management teams.
- Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, talent development plans, and succession strategies.
- Maintain accountability for workforce planning, hiring, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Build a high-performing product organization focused on innovation, execution, and business results.
Strategic Product Leadership
- Define and execute the enterprise product vision and long-term product strategy.
- Ensure alignment between product investments, company objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities.
- Drive innovation and identify opportunities for growth, differentiation, and expansion.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership regarding product opportunities and market trends.
Portfolio Management
- Provide strategic oversight of the product portfolio, balancing investments across existing products, emerging solutions, and future growth opportunities.
- Evaluate portfolio performance and adjust priorities based on customer demand, competitive dynamics, financial performance, and strategic objectives.
- Lead product lifecycle management from concept through growth, optimization, and retirement.
Product Roadmap Leadership
- Establish and govern portfolio-level product roadmaps.
- Prioritize investments and allocate resources to maximize customer value and business outcomes.
- Lead annual planning activities and provide product-related input into strategic and operational planning processes.
- Ensure alignment of roadmap priorities across business functions.
Clinical Program Leadership
- Provide senior-level oversight of clinical programs and initiatives.
- Ensure clinical program strategy aligns with product strategy, customer requirements, business goals, and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with Clinical Services, Technology, Operations, Analytics, and Customer Success teams to implement and scale clinical programs.
- Drive continuous improvement through program monitoring, outcome measurement, and optimization.
Financial Accountability
- Own portfolio financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, investment prioritization, and return on investment.
- Develop business cases supporting new product development and strategic investments.
- Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership to establish and achieve financial objectives.
Market Intelligence & Innovation
- Monitor healthcare, pharmacy, technology, and regulatory trends.
- Assess competitive threats, industry developments, and customer needs.
- Identify emerging technologies and innovation opportunities.
- Champion innovation initiatives that support business growth and market leadership.
Customer & Market Engagement
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, partners, industry organizations, and key stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic discussions.
- Gather customer insights to inform product strategy and investment decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Technology, Clinical Services, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Compliance, and Finance to ensure successful product execution.
- Drive organizational alignment around product priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Resolve competing priorities and facilitate effective decision-making across stakeholder groups.
User Experience & Product Excellence
- Champion a customer-centric and human-centered design approach.
- Ensure product decisions improve user experience, adoption, clinical outcomes, and customer value.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and product excellence.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, industry standards, and data security expectations.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Information Security, and Clinical teams to manage risk and maintain regulatory alignment.
Senior Organizational Leadership
- Serve as the senior product leader and subject matter expert for the organization.
- Establish product management standards, frameworks, governance practices, and operating models.
- Influence enterprise strategy and contribute to organizational decision-making through senior leadership forums and cross-functional governance.
Knowledge & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Technology, Pharmacy, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive product management experience, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success leading product organizations in healthcare technology, pharmacy technology, digital health, healthcare services, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, pharmacy workflows, clinical programs, and healthcare technology solutions.
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise product strategies.
- Demonstrated success launching, scaling, and managing technology products and product portfolios.
- Strong financial acumen, including business case development, investment prioritization, revenue growth, and profitability management.
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, customer discovery, market analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
- Experience leading product organizations through growth, transformation, and change.
- Strong senior leadership presence with exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across functional and organizational boundaries.
