Role Description The Registered Pharmacist role is a contract, on-site position located in Mount Prospect, IL. The pharmacist will be responsible for accurately verifying specialty medications, and reviewing patient profiles to ensure safe and appropriate therapy. Day-to-day tasks include counseling patients or care teams on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions, as well as answering clinical questions. The role involves collaborating with other healthcare providers, maintaining regulatory and organizational compliance, and supporting inventory management, including ordering, storage, and controlled substance handling. The pharmacist will document all activities in accordance with pharmacy laws and company policies, contribute to quality assurance initiatives, and may assist in training or mentoring pharmacy support staff.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Pharmacist license in the state of Illinois; PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
- Demonstrated clinical pharmacy skills, including medication therapy management, drug interaction review, and patient or caregiver counseling.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, e-prescribing platforms, and basic office software; ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices related to dispensing, documentation, and controlled substances.
- Attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and a commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
- Experience in specialty, home infusion, or managed care pharmacy settings is preferred
- Availability to work on-site in Mount Prospect, IL, with flexibility in scheduling as required by the assignment.
